Joshua One Year Later - A Story of Hope

One year after his rescue, Joshua's story is one of hope and joy. See his transformation and learn how to become a foster parent for Dallas Fort Worth Pug Rescue.

Joshua

This is Duchess my friends, she is about 9-10 years old . Her former mommy passed away leaving her all alone. She was surrendered to DFW Pug Rescue where she will remain in her foster home and live out her final days. Duchess has allot of medical problems with her legs and this makes it very difficult for her to walk. Her foster mom & dad carry her out where she does her business and then carry her back to her favorite place, next to dad on the couch. She is a fun loving girl ,just her wheels don't work to good. If you can help with her medical expense, her pain medicines ~ please click the donate button, thanks in advance for helping Duchess stay comfortable!
Hello, there good folks. My name is Kleo and I came to DFWPR  over three years ago.

I was in one foster home for about three months and it got to be too much on them so I was moved to my current foster, three years ago this month in September.

I have Addison's disease and that requires a trip to the vet every 28 days for a shot of Percotin. My shot is well over $150  a month and then I require meds daily.  I am approaching 10 years old and this old Addison's is getting harder on me. I have made two trips to the ER this year. My foster mom knows what to watch for now and we rush to the ER the minute she see any signs. Like any child it seems as though I wait until long holiday weekends to crash. My foster mom loves me so much she gives me all kinds of vitamins to help keep me healthy. I am on a very strict diet to control my weight and health. I have a brother who is a real pain but I love him. All he every wants to do is sleep and be lazy. Once in a great while he does play with me and that makes it all worthwhile.

DFWPR has been so good to me and they could use some help with my medical if you could find it in your heart to help me. All of us pugs here at DFWPR are so grateful to all the wonderful people who help make our lives possible. Your donations are what keep me and others alive and I want to say thank you and lots of wet kisses.

Lee

Lee was relinquished by his owner when he could no longer provide medical care for "Lee Lee." Lee is a beautiful senior boy who is deaf and partially blind. He has three "slipped" vertebrae in his back that makes it somewhat uncomfortable to get around. It is estimated that Lee is about 12 yrs old. He is too old for surgery so DFW Pug Rescue will keep him comfortable in his foster home. Lee loves his foster mom and follows her everywhere! He even likes his Yorkie sisters. Lee is a wonderful pug who, despite his infirmities, still has a zest for life and brings joy to those around him.

Zoie

Zoie has been with DFW Pug Rescue for some time. Although she is a wonderful dog, her behavior can be somewhat unpredictable and aggressive. DFW Pug Rescue has decided she should remain in hospice care with one of our experienced foster families where she can receive all the love and attention she needs. Zoie gets along well with other dogs, and ignores cats. She is quite alpha, and prefers to be the leader. She stays right by her foster mom's side following her from room to room. She loves to lay on the couch, hang out, and watch TV. Zoie thrives on attention and loves to be held.
It was recently discovered that Zoie has mammary cancer. DFW Pug Rescue will provide medical care for Zoie and keep her comfortable and happy in her foster home.
