Come join us! You are definitely not alone. There are many others crazy for pugs. Volunteers are the backbone of any nonprofit organization. They not only save the organization money, but time. Time to get many important things done that might not have otherwise been possible. Our rescue is run by folks who generously volunteer their time, homes and hearts in order to help.
We are in need of volunteers in a variety of areas including but not limited to:
Events/Fundraisings: Not only do we have our weekly adoption events and Petco and Petsmart, but we also have Pugapalooza, Pugathon and Pug-O-Ween. As these events approach we send out a volunteer request detailing the event and how many volunteers we need. We are always coming up with new ideas for fundraising throughout the year to raise funds. We are also always open to fundraising suggestions.
Transportation: We often get our dogs from shelters around the area and they need to be transported to our vet. We are frequently in need of volunteers to meet transport or drive to pick up dogs. Sometimes we get notification of a dog that needs to be picked up within hours so it is vital that your information is accurate. You must have a VALID drivers license.
Media/Newsletters: We try to send out a monthly newsletter to keep our members informed. We need volunteers to help write stories and take pictures.
DFW Pug Rescue Club, Inc. is a non-profit organization. All membership dues, adoption fees and donations go directly to the rescue, care and placement of unwanted, mistreated and homeless pugs. While we have lots of fun with our pugs, please keep in mind that RESCUE is our number one priority. Everything we do regarding fundraising is to allow us to continue to rescue precious abandoned pugs. Since DFWPRC was started in 1997, we have rescued over 5,000 pugs and placed them in loving homes. DFW Pug Rescue Club rescues all pugs regardless of age or medical condition.
