I wanted to send you some pictures of Max (AKA Cannoli) since he has joined our family.  He is such a sweet boy who loves chasing our 4 year old Gabi and snuggling with me.  Max has bonded with our 8 year old daughter Becca as you can see in the pictures.  She actually chose his name.   Thank you so much for bringing us together.  You are truly angels!

My name is Littlebit but used to be Baby Jane.  I was a gift to my new Mom by her son and daughter-in-law and boy, am I happy to be in my new family!!!  I have lots of her grandkids hugging and loving on me all the time.  I don't even mind when the kids pick me up to snuggle because I love cuddling by anyone who will give me the time.  I am so gentle with the children and they really like to chase me around the yard.

My new Mom loves me to pieces or so she tells me a hundred times a day!  She really likes me to sit in her lap or right beside her when she's reading or stitching quilts.  Sometimes I am on her lap and watch her run that sewing machine.

I do snore and  shed  but my Mom brushes me every day which helps a lot and it feels soooo good.  Neither of these little things I do seems to bother Mom, probably because I  am so sweet, adorable, good natured and her special  friend.   My Dad, who says he isn't fond of dogs, surely likes me.  He laughs at my little crooked tail that can wag pretty fast.  I do not get left home very often because Dad most always says to just take me along for I am a very good travelor.  (I know they can't stand to be away from me very long!)

So, if you are considering a PUG adoption, just do it.  We all are wonderful, loving, snuggly, faithful dogs and you will be so thankful you provided one of us with a good home.

Hello! I just wanted to update you on one of the dogs we adopted from DFW Pug Rescue. I adopted Boone a few years ago and it has been nothing but good, fun times! He lives out on five acres in Cedar Park, Texas along with me, my fiance, and our other dog Leia (she is a Brussels Griffon). Boone is a pug/terrier mix and the sweetest dog in the world. Him and Leia sleep in our king size bed every night. They are house dogs during the day and we take them out on the land to play when we get home. They get the whole house to themselves with lots of toys! Seriously, we buy a couple new toys every time we go buy food....and, of course, they come along for the ride in the store! They love it. We also take the dogs to the beach whenever we get a chance. They learned how to swim in Port Aransas! Boone's not a big fan of the water we found out, but he loves to roll around in the warm sand and chase the birds and crabs. My fiance's Dad is a retired vet so we get nothing but the best care for the dogs. He is always checking in on us to make sure we are updated on shots and heart worm preventative! We have been growing a vegetable garden and Boone loves to eat tomatoes that we throw to him! He will lick them clean. He also gets to chase deer (we call them big kitties) and squirrels up trees. We have had so much fun with our babies and we can't wait to see what the future has in store for our family. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to adopt such a wonderful dog who has brought so much joy to our life.

Sincerely,
Julie and Eric
Boone and Leia

Hey everybody! It’s me, Mateo! (or  Brutus depends on who you ask).  Anyhow, I go by the name of “Ace” now.

I’m having the time of my life in my new forever home!  First off, I’ve got a brother who goes by “Tex”. He’s my best friend!  He doesn’t breath quite as well as I do, but that’s ok, I still think he’s the best!

My new Mom and Dad take us for walks quite a bit, and since I’ve been in my new digs, I’ve helped Tex lose about 2 pounds.  Yeah, mainly because if my parents don’t watch me extra close I’ll eat his food! But I also play with Tex a lot.  As you may recall, I enjoy jumping like a gazelle or a small deer.  This is fun when I encounter one of the cats!  They don’t quite know what the heck to think of that!

Tex has taught me some cool tricks, too.  Like at first, I honestly thought the floor was my bathroom. I was like “wow” that’s a big bathroom! Tex explained to me that this isn’t so.  But he wasn’t condescending or anything like that!  He showed me how to “go” outside.  That’s how I knew he was a great big brother, leading by example.

Ok, now on to the fun stuff, photos!  I kinda think that my Mom and Dad go a little nuts with the camera but I hear them talk about how you can never have too many pictures of  your babies!

Thanks again for rescuing me and taking such excellent care of me while I was waiting it out for my forever home.  I’ll keep the notes coming, and the pictures too if you’d like!

Just wanted to let you know how well she is doing and how much we love her.   She's so cute and she gets along with the other dogs and plays with Walter, the Corgi all the time.   When she's had enough, she puts the 'smack-down' on him!   She still tries to chase the cat, but, we have that all arranged so no way can she get her!
She is a total piggy, wanting to eat all the time, but we've kept her svelte and in good shape, monitoring her food and putting her in the back yard to run and play which she enjoys a lot.   She doesn't like to get those little feet wet, but will go outside anyway cause we pick her up and put her out there.   We call her 'the little brick'.   We sometimes call Walter 'the log'!
I guess she's about 12 now?   There was some discrepancy on her age initially, but I think she was 10 when we got her and I think she'd not had a lot of fun but she is making up for it now in a big way and is fortunate to have a great house and great family to love her.
Anyway, just wanted to let you know that she's still doing great and we are glad we got her.

Richard Nixon here.  You may have known me by my undercover name, Voyager.  Now that I'm in my forever home, I am able to use my real name.  I had to cross a couple of state lines to get here.  I'm living on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi now.  Not too close to the water, mind you, but, close enough if I feel the need to get myself covered in sand.  There was an old guy already here when I arrived.  I'm working on getting him back into shape.  He's smart, but I'm smarter.  I have had to come up with some pretty elaborate schemes to steal his bones.  He falls for them every time!!  Except last night, he managed to get it back.  Like I said, he's smart.

I've got my human trained pretty well too.  I just have to give her the right look in the morning and she gets my breakfast.  Dinner is another story.  She has some stupid 6pm rule.  I really have to talk her into anything earlier.  She listens though, and I've, at times, managed to circumvent the 6pm rule.  She keeps me busy with all the mini tennis balls I can handle.  I really like the Kong ones, that squeak, though.  She's a transplant, from up north, so she's got me hooked on this Faygo Redpop.  I guess it isn't so bad.  I've picked up reading since I've been here, and have a quite comfy place to sleep.  I'm attaching some pictures so you can see how I'm doing
Not sure if you remember me, we got Jackson from DFW Pug Rescue last November.   Here’s a recent pic of him (sorry that it’s not too clear) keeping my mom company while she took a nap!   He is such a cuddle bug!
Jackson was neutered 3 wks ago……he did so well, he doesn’t even miss them!    Thank you so much for bringing Jackson in our lives.   He has the cutest personality and he loves his big brothers too!

Hope all is well with you…………..and all the pugs you rescue!!!

Franci Berg & Jackson!!!!
I am calling her Izzy and she is laying next to me on her back so I can rub her belly and is snorting away...lol. Working on crate training, not barking, and not chasing the cats. I made her bandanas yesterday with scrap fabric and she sports them well.  Hope all goes well with the pug rescue.

We are blessed, especially me, with these two little girls. They are the love of my life,(Sorry June)it's true. I get up each day and the first thing I do is check on our girls and it's all over. I am totally consumed with their love and affection. I can't wait to see what they have in store for me today! What a joy DFWPG gave to us.  So how are you doing and how are your brood doing. How many do you all have now? It is always good to hear from you and do not worry I give plenty of hugs and thank The Lord every night that He brought me to your lovely organization. God bless you all and yours. Well BCNU for now. Write anytime and love and happiness to you and yours.

June & Ron
Not sure if you remember us, but we adopted "Fritz" (could have been Fritz "2") in January of 2009.  He was from Louisiana - had a really bad urinary infection, heartworm, injured eye, etc. We were looking for a buddy for our Nate - a very spoiled Pug.

Well, I wanted to let you know he (now known and loved as "Steve") is doing GREAT.  He is my boy - follows me everywhere.  We are so very happy that he's a part of our family.  Nate and Steve are truly brothers now - they are alike and yet very different in a lot of ways.  We must admit that Steve is the brains of outfit!  He catches on to things very quickly - it's really amazing.  What a great dog.  He loves going for walks and is always so friendly to people and other dogs.

We moved from our apartment in Richardson to a patio home in Plano, so the boys have a small yard now.  They think that's pretty cool, though they still prefer their couch in the living room!  I can't imagine life without my boys.

Thank you again for getting all together - we will never forget you!

Warm regards,

Barbara Sullivan
We are settling in well.  Louie is a sweetie!

Thanks a lot,
Love Jane

Update on Clover Pup #2

Hi Vicki ~ I will keep you updated happily, I'm a picture fanatic and I will love to be able to share with you how he grows and develops. I'm a pediatric nurse and my husband is a paramedic applying to nursing school so our hope is that we can get Marley (our golden) his Canine Good Citizen and puppy too and go to Cook Children's (where I work) and do animal therapy. I've watched the group there do animal therapy since I was in nursing school and they are just awesome! Caleb, my ten year old, is completely in love. He didn't want to go to school today. You obviously did a great job, he is so beautiful and the sweetest ever. He is curled up against my leg right now. Marley, our golden, is being very patient as puppy tries to hang onto his tail etc... (: We have fostered lots of goldens and I'm excited for Marley to have a permanent buddy. Thank you for the supplies and DVD, that was really sweet of you. When is he due for his heartworm? And do you know if I just call Creekside to set up vaccines and neutering? Or do I go through someone with the rescue? Thanks again, we feel so lucky. He is wonderful!
Lilly(Fancy Mae)

Hi JoAnn,

Here are a couple more pictures of our little pug.  She is doing so well!

We love her to pieces, and she is incredibly well-behaved.  George and I take her everywhere with us, and we've gone to two pug meet-ups already.

Lilly loves to sniff the other dogs, but sticks close to us for
reassurance.

At home she's not much for playing, but just likes to follow me around the  house and curl up for naps in my sewing room.  She is so calm and cuddly, and just the perfect addition to our family!  We tell everyone we see that
DFW pug rescue is the best!  Please tell Holly that we are so grateful for the foster care she gave Lilly and pass the photos on to her as well.

Update on Gidget

Hey there ladies!

Just dropping you a line to give you an update on our new family. We are all settled in together and are having a BLAST. Dave and Junie (we are calling her “Gidget”) have totally bonded and spend a ton of time together.  We have all bonded, but you can tell she’s a total daddy’s girl, haha. When he lies on the sofa she hops right on up too and curls up in his armpit or on his chest and falls fast asleep! Its the cutest thing!

Little Dexter (We are calling him “Little Mookie” haha its so silly) has made himself right at home as well. He is our handsome boy and H
loves playing outside with his sister and Pippi (our golden). All three dogs have in fact become super close. Sometimes they all stretch out together and take naps!

Anyway, just thought I’d send you an update. Thanks again for all your help! We are very happy : )

I am attaching some pics. Look how sweet these babies are!

We were so fortunate to get Charlotte Beth (formerly Abby) as our own little one in December 2008.  She fit in right from the start, or should I say she muscled in right from the start.  This is one bossy girl!  Her nickname around here is Sassy Bossy.  The other pugs (and the humans) march to her tune. She is definitely a lap dog and Heaven help us if we ignore her when she wants up.  She thinks she’s hot stuff and is willing to whoop any dog in the vet’s waiting room.

When we got Charlotte , Dr. Gumfory said that she would probably have to have one of her knees done again.  We were lucky to find a terrific orthopedic surgeon locally and she had her 3rd knee surgery in June.  What a trooper!  She never complained, even with 17 staples in her leg.  I’m happy to report that both of her knees are now great.  She tears around the yard at breakneck speed, although she limps a little when the weather is wet and chilly.

Charlotte’s passion is any squeaky toy.  Her current favorite is a chicken.  She knows the exact location of the squeaker and carries the toy around the house in such a way that she can make it talk constantly.  She is also the only dog I’ve ever met who kisses.  I don’t mean doggy kisses – even though she’s good at those, too – she actually purses her lips and kisses!

We just celebrated Charlotte ’s first Gotcha Day on December 13.  Steak for everyone!   Our thanks go out again to DFW Pug Rescue, the staff at Westcreek, and the wonderful foster mom who took such good care of her.

Marshall LOVED the snow day!!!!!!!  He ran around and played.  It was so cute!!  He is doing so good and just as happy as a pug should be!!  We love him so much!!!

Bam Bam

Just wanted to give you update on BamBam. His first week with us has been just fine. He is a good little boy! It only took him about two days to get the hang of our schedule. He only had 2 or 3 accidents in the house - which I think is great. My daughters just love him. They are eager to be the ones to feed him and give him his biscuits. He sleeps in my oldest daughter's bed with her at night even!

He is getting along pretty well with our other dog, who is still a puppy at 8 months old. Bambam is not afraid to put her in her place if she gets a little too frisky with him. He has made himself right at home. We're definitely glad we found him! I've attached a picture of BamBam and the girls snuggling on the couch.

Thank you!
 Katie

 Dear DFW Pugs:

Thank you so much for matching me with the most awesome family in the world.  My new brother and best friend is the most awesome companion in the ever, we do everything together!!!!.  We play all the time together, go on walks and make fun of our dad on a daily basis.  Dad just got us new treats for our Kong and I love it!  Because Dad works from home a few days a week, we get a lot of extra TLC, which is so cool.  Anyway, just wanted to tell you thanks again and I’m really lucky.  All the best!

 Sincerely,
 GOOBER
Hi Foster Mom JoAnn,

It is me--Jesabelle but now my name is Daisy Mae.  I just had to let you know that I am so happy in my forever home!!!  My new mom and dad are happy with me too.  I hear them talking about how I am just the cutest thing and am the perfect pug.  My daddy calls me his princess and tells me every day that he loves me.  My mom and I are inseparable. She takes me wherever she goes unless it is a place that won't allow pugs. We do everything together and she coos and cuddles and kisses me all the time.

It took me a few days but I think I have them trained now on how I expect my daily schedule to be.  The first thing I do every morning when I jump off the bed is eat.  Sleeping really makes me hungry.  Mom tried at first to get me to go outside and do my business but I soon got her straightened out!  I have to eat first so that I will have the energy so that we can go outside and I can run, run and run more around the yard.  When I am all tired, I do my business and mom and I go inside and we play for a bit with my toys.  It is then usually time for her to go to work.

I am so happy that she gets to work from home most days.  But, I do not like this thing called the computer.  Mom and I have had several discussions about it because I do not want her attention on it all day.  She thinks we compromised but really I won.  I get to lay in her lap all day with my head on her arm.  I am the perfect lady as long as she stops a couple of times during the day and plays with me and of course I have her trained on when I expect my treats.  I require those at certain times of the day.  Boy do I love it though when she finishes work!!!  It is time to take a walk.

We explore different places to walk and we have met lots of new people and other creatures.  I am a P-U-G but I think you just call them dogs.  They are fun though. I don't actually walk--I prance.  I have to show everyone how cute I am.  Mom and I went last week and bought me a hot pink halter especially for our walks and I want all the others to see that I am beautiful!!  Everyone tells me I am adorable.  I have learned that if I lay my ears back and give them a crooked smile where just my bottom teeth show, everyone falls head over heels for me!!!

If it is raining, we get to go for a car ride instead of a walk.  Then we get to go to the Sonic for a drink and they really love me there!  We also walk to my new Grandpa's to check on him....he doesn't like dogs but he loves me but of course I am not a dog!  I have lots of new auntie's and cousins that dote on me too.  I am especially fond of the two legged one that is a year old.  He is just my size and laughs at me all the time.  I loved the snow and put on a show for mom and dad out in it and I am sending you some pictures.

Mom and I are planning to attend the Pugapalooza Saturday and hope to see you there.  I am saving lots of kisses for you.

I want to thank you for taking such good care of me until you found me my forever home.  You rock!!!

Love
Daisy Mae
