Become a Foster

Our fosters play an essential role in helping the pugs in our care find loving forever homes. Help a pug in need when you foster for DFW Pug Rescue!

Fostering a pug or pug mix for DFW Pug Rescue

Fosters play a critical role in:

  • Providing day-to-day care for our pugs in loving home environments

  • Giving valuable insights about our pugs, including their behavior, temperament, health, preferences, and other information that is important to prospective adopters

What we provide to our fosters

DFW Pug Rescue provides all medications and veterinary care for foster pugs as well as crates, harnesses, leashes, and collars.

Foster responsibilities

As a foster, you’ll be asked to:

  • Feed, care for, socialize, and play with your foster pug

  • Begin basic training and house manners, if needed

  • Observe your foster pug’s behaviors and needs

  • Transport your foster pug to the vet clinic, if needed

  • Provide photos and bios for prospective adopters

  • Talk to potential adopters and arrange meet and greets in greater Dallas/Fort Worth under the direction of our team

We need you!

Fostering is a rewarding way to help the pugs in our care transition to loving forever homes.

If you aren’t able to foster, but would still like to support our efforts as a volunteer, we have many opportunities available! Learn more about becoming a volunteer!
